Waydoo’s FoilBoost completely outclasses the competition. Setting price aside, its premium craftsmanship, intuitive design, and high-grade materials far surpass anything else on the market. Remarkably, it delivers all this premium quality at just one-third of the price of competing products.
How many Range Batteries during sessions and time recharge?
I really tried to love the FoilBoost. The build quality is excellent, the components feel solid, and the price is genuinely competitive. But the battery life and in‑water drag hold it back in a big way. On a 5' board with a 1070 cm² front wing, I’m only getting about 20 minutes of runtime. I often spend more time assembling and breaking down my setup than actually riding. If extra batteries weren’t $700 a set, this wouldn’t be as painful but once you buy a second pair, the total cost starts creeping into Foil Drive territory, where performance and runtime are both stronger.
Power delivery is good. At ~75 kg plus a wetsuit, I have no trouble getting on foil, though a 3‑blade prop would likely improve efficiency. The real drawbacks are drag and pod dips. When the pod or board touches down, the drag from the motor and batteries is enough to disrupt balance and kill the ride.

I’m not sure who this product is best suited for. The short battery life makes it tough to recommend to beginners who need lots of reps, despite the attractive entry price. And the drag makes it hard to recommend to riders seeking performance.
Overall, FoilBoost could be the ideal entry‑level assist system if battery life and drag were improved. Existing users may be stuck with the drag issue, but offering higher‑capacity or more affordable batteries would go a long way toward solving the runtime problem.

I ordered and received my Foilboost two months ago directly from the sales team "Flying Fish". I ordered the unit with an extra set of batteries. The extra batteries were never delivered. Despite repeated requests directly to the sales team about an estimated delivery date, all my mails are completely ignored.
Upon arrival of the unit I discovered that the batteries are not suitable for commercial airline transport. When I enquired to the sales team I was informed that I had misunderstood their sales pitch since I had been informed that this problem could easily be rectified by putting a new sticker on the battery. The sales ream actually emailed me the template for such a sticker.
Waydoo staff encourages its customers to fraudulently circumvent airline restrictions!
Unfortunately I can not recommend this product until a professional sales and service team is appointed.

So far (4 sessions in), I'm very impressed with the FoilBoost. The power levels are good, and I easily get on foil (95kg) on the Power-Level 3 with loads of power to spare. Build quality is very strong, and performance is solid. Battery life is around 45min in "mostly efoiling" with lots of falling and starts.
